IT Support Cost in Dubai for Small Offices | Byteflow
How Much Does IT Support Cost for a Small Office in Dubai?
Ask five IT companies in Dubai what support costs and you'll get five very different answers. One quotes AED 500 a month, another quotes five times that, and neither explains why. The gap usually isn't about quality. It's about what's included.
This guide gives you realistic price ranges, shows you what actually drives the cost, and helps you compare quotes properly so you don't overpay or end up under-covered.
How much does IT support cost for a small office in Dubai?
For a small office in Dubai, IT support typically costs from about AED 500 per month for basic remote-only support on a handful of devices, to around AED 1,500 or more per month for a plan that includes on-site visits and more devices. Fully managed IT with security, monitoring and backup is usually priced per user and costs more. The final price depends on the number of users and devices, how fast you need a response, and whether on-site visits, security and backup are included.
All prices in this guide are before 5% VAT, which UAE businesses should add to every quote.
Typical price ranges at a glance
These are indicative ranges based on published market examples. Your actual quote will depend on your setup.
| Type of support | Indicative cost | What you usually get | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic remote support | From about AED 500 per month (small device count) | Helpdesk by phone, email or WhatsApp, remote fixes, basic checks | On-site visits charged separately |
| Support with on-site visits IT AMC (annual contract) | Around AED 1,500 per month (mid-size device count) Quoted per site or per device | Remote and on-site help, Microsoft 365, printers, network troubleshooting, a set number of visits Preventive maintenance, repairs, helpdesk, scheduled visits | Project work and advanced infrastructure charged extra Exclusions for parts, security and backup |
Managed IT services Hiring in-house IT | Priced per user, per month About AED 5,000 per month average salary, up to about AED 8,500 | Monitoring, security, backup management, cloud admin, reporting One person, on-site | Higher cost, so check you need every service Salary is only part of the real cost (see below) |
Treat these as reference points, not promises. Two quotes with the same headline price can include completely different services.
What decides your price?
Seven factors explain almost every difference between quotes.
1. Number of users and devices. More laptops, phones, printers and network devices means more to support, so the price rises. Most providers charge per user or per device.
2. Response time. A promise to respond within 2 hours costs more than "within 1 business day", because it needs engineers on standby.
3. On-site vs remote. Remote support is cheaper. On-site visits cost engineer time and travel, so providers either cap them, charge per visit or build them into a higher tier.
4. Support hours. Monday to Friday office hours cost less than Saturday cover or after-hours help. Many Dubai offices work Monday to Saturday, so check the hours match yours.
5. Security and backup. Basic support often covers only fixing problems. Active protection, such as email filtering, endpoint security, monitoring and tested backups, is a bigger service and prices accordingly.
6. Hardware and parts. Some contracts include repairs and replacement parts. Many cover labour only.
7. Contract length and payment terms. Annual contracts are usually cheaper per month than month-to-month plans, but make sure you can exit on fair terms.
IT support pricing models explained
Understanding how a provider charges helps you predict your real bill.
| Model | How it works | Best for | Risk |
|---|---|---|---|
| Per user per month | A fixed fee for each employee | Growing teams, managed IT | Cost rises as headcount rises |
| Per device per month Fixed monthly or annual fee (AMC) | A fixed fee for each covered device One agreed price for a defined scope | Offices with shared or few devices Small, stable offices | Staff using several devices can add up Exclusions can add extra costs |
| Pay as you go Tiered packages | You pay per call-out or per hour Basic, standard and premium bundles | Very small offices that rarely need help Most small businesses | One big incident can cost more than a year of contract Key features may only appear in higher tiers |
What can your IT support bill look like? Simple examples
These are illustrative calculations to show you how to think about cost. They are not Byteflow quotes.
Example A: Fixed monthly plan
If a support plan costs AED 1,000 per month, that is AED 12,000 per year. Add 5% VAT (AED 600) and the yearly total is AED 12,600.
Example B: Hiring one IT person
If you hire one IT support employee at the Dubai average of roughly AED 5,000 per month, that is AED 60,000 per year in salary alone. On top of that come costs such as visa and medical insurance, end-of-service benefits, paid leave, equipment, software and training. And one person can't cover holidays, sick days or the full range of skills your office needs.
Example C: Pay as you go
If you call out an engineer only when something breaks, a single serious incident, such as a failed server or a ransomware attack, can cost more than a full year of a support contract once you add lost working time.
The takeaway: the cheapest monthly fee isn't always the cheapest option, and the most expensive isn't always the best. What matters is cost per year against the risk you're covering.
IT support vs hiring in-house: which costs less?
Outsourced IT / AMC | In-house IT | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly cost Skills Leave cover | Fixed fee Whole team Yes | Salary + extras One person No |
| Tools Scaling up Best for | Included Add users Small offices | You buy them Hire more Large companies |
For most small offices, outsourcing costs less and gives wider coverage. An in-house hire starts to make sense when your IT workload is large enough to keep someone busy full time, and even then many companies keep an outside partner for specialist work and backup.
Hidden costs to ask about
A low headline price can hide extra charges. Ask whether each of these is included:
- On-site visits, and whether they are capped or charged per visit
- After-hours and weekend support
- Replacement parts and hardware repairs
- Projects, such as office moves, new staff setup or server upgrades
- Security tools and licences, such as endpoint protection and email filtering
- Backup storage, and whether restores are tested
- Microsoft 365 licences, which are normally billed separately from support
- Setup or onboarding fees at the start of a contract
- Early cancellation charges
Always request the scope in writing and an itemised quote, then compare providers on the same list.
8 ways to get the most value from your IT budget
- Audit what you actually use. Count users, devices and critical systems before asking for quotes.
- Ask every provider for the same scope. That's the only way to compare fairly.
- Match support level to risk. Pay for fast response and monitoring only where downtime would hurt.
- Bundle support, security and backup with one provider, which is often cheaper than buying them separately.
- Standardise your devices. Fewer models means faster, cheaper support.
- Prevent problems. Updates, MFA and tested backups cost less than fixing a breach.
- Review your contract each year. Remove services you don't use and add the ones you've outgrown.
- Check exit terms. Make sure you can get your passwords, documentation and data if you leave.
Red flags in an IT support quote
- A price that is far below every other quote, with no explanation
- No written scope, or vague phrases like "basic support" with no list
- No stated response time, or "as soon as possible"
- Security and backup left out without saying so
- Pressure to sign immediately
- No client reviews, or no example in your area or industry
- Refusal to explain who owns the admin passwords and documentation

How we put these figures together
To keep this guide honest, we reviewed publicly listed IT support plans from providers in Dubai and published salary data for IT support roles in the UAE (GulfTalent), and used international managed IT benchmarks for comparison. Prices change, so treat every figure here as a guide, and always get a written, itemised quote for your own office. VAT at 5% applies to UAE services, so add it to any quote that doesn't already include it.
Frequently asked questions
How much does IT support cost per month in Dubai?
Basic remote support for a very small office starts from around AED 500 per month, while plans with on-site visits and more devices are often around AED 1,500 or more. Managed IT with security and monitoring is usually priced per user. Final cost depends on your users, devices, response time and what is included.
Is IT AMC cheaper than hiring an IT person?
For most small offices, yes. A single IT employee costs roughly AED 5,000 per month in salary alone on average, plus visa, insurance and other costs, and cannot cover leave or every skill. An AMC gives you a team for a fixed fee. See what an IT AMC is and what it covers.
What is included in IT support for a small office?
Typically helpdesk support, remote fixes, on-site visits (sometimes capped), help with email, Microsoft 365, printers and network issues, and basic maintenance. Security, backup, projects and parts may be extra, so check the written scope.
Why do IT support quotes in Dubai vary so much?
Because they include different things. Differences in response time, on-site visits, support hours, security, backup and parts can change the price a lot, even for the same size of office.
Is pay-as-you-go IT support worth it for a small business?
It can work for very small offices that rarely need help. But one serious incident can cost more than a year of a fixed plan, and you won't be a priority client. Many businesses switch to a contract after their first expensive emergency.
Is VAT added to IT support prices in Dubai?
Yes. The UAE standard VAT rate is 5%, so ask whether a quote includes it.
What is the difference between IT AMC and managed IT services, and which costs more?
An AMC mainly maintains and repairs your equipment for a fixed fee. Managed IT services actively monitor, secure and manage your whole environment, so they usually cost more per user. Read our IT AMC vs managed IT services comparison.
Does Byteflow provide IT support in JLT and other Dubai areas?
Yes. Byteflow supports businesses across Dubai, including JLT, Business Bay, Deira and Al Quoz.
